My Wish for You...
To my up & coming-soon-giggly-wiggly-grinning-from-ear-to-ear-singing-at-high-pitches-rolling-on-the-floor-"is-it-snack-time-yet?" 'n "can-we-go-to-recess-now?" kiddos...

Although I didn't write this bottom list of Peanuts Character Character Traits myself, I rewrote it (without permission) just for my upcoming classroom family!
- My wish for you is that you learn to appreciate your strengths, similarities, and your differences!
- That you'll be like Charlie Brown: The hero of the story, & the essence of persistence and optimism. That no matter what troubles come your way you never fail to find the silver lining in a situation by being a peacemaker, or see the beauty in an ugly Christmas tree. You might even get caught daydreaming once in awhile!
- That you'll be like Lucy: That you'll grow to be a strong, independent woman. Despite what others may think, you care deeply about your friends and only want to give them the best advice for just five cents. That, like Lucy, you would be good listener but also not talk too much or be too bossy!
- That you'll be like Snoopy: Say Hello, to adventure! Like Snoopy that you'd be the daredevil of your own story and the spunky sidekick everyone wants to have. That your vivid imagination lets you escape to other worlds. And that you will learn this year to remain loyal to your friends and believe with your whole heart that just might change the world!
- That you'll be like Woodstock: You're small but mighty! Even though you may not be able to fly with your wings, but that you'll use your imagination t& pretend that you can fly the skies as a stellar mechanic to the Flying Ace. That you'll be kind-hearted & faithful, but that you'll also learn that it's safe to stick up for yourself and tell your pals (and your teacher) the truth!
- That you'll be like Linus: Be like Linus-- he is Charlie Brown’s best human friend... not because Linus wore the coolest clothes and was considered popular, but Linus sacrificed his time to help Charlie get out of a funk. Linus’s greatest strength was that he wise beyond his years and understood the importance of kindness. Never be afraid to show how smart you are in the group. My prayer for you is that you'll be voice of reason who shows up in the nick of time with profound words of wisdom. That you'll be deeply dedicated to your beliefs, and that you'll know that your patience will pay off when the Great Pumpkin arrives.
- That you'll be like PigPen: That you'll always keep that sense of childlike wonder & that you'll always take pleasure in the simpler things in life. Even if others shy away from you, never be afraid to be yourself!
- That you'll be like Franklin: Everyone needs a kind word now and again, and I pray that you'll know just what to say to cheer your friends up and get them motivated to seize the day! Maybe you'll even surprise us & break-dance in our classroom and show off your moves!
- That you'll be like Schroeder: That you'll grow to appreciate creating, noticing & wondering about art! That even though you definitely have a sensitive side, & you might prefer to ponder quietly alone.
